Full Piece and/or Splits

Full Pieces & Splits

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Frequently asked questions

Just black? What weight is it?
Just black — one color, done well. This is a deep black woven polyester suiting, 57/58" wide, about 10 oz per linear yard, thin with a medium weight body that drapes with ease for relaxed-fit designs. It's made in Taiwan, 100% polyester, machine washable (cold or warm, low tumble). The slight stretch in the weave adds wearing comfort, and lining is optional. For the person who needs black suiting without decision fatigue: this is the bolt.
Will the black fade?
Far slower than natural fibers. This is 100% polyester in deep black — polyester holds black dye exceptionally well through washing, unlike cotton or wool blacks that fade to charcoal. Machine wash cold or warm, low tumble; washing cold and inside-out preserves the depth longest. The honest note: no black is eternal — years of sun and hot washing fade everything — but polyester black is the longest-lived black in the fabric store. For uniforms and suiting in constant rotation, that's the point.
'Lining is optional' — when would I skip it?
When the design is relaxed and the fabric behaves. At 10 oz per linear yard with a soft hand and slight stretch, this black suiting has enough body to work unlined for casual jackets, relaxed trousers, and draped designs — the listing explicitly makes lining optional. Line it when you want structure (tailored blazers), opacity insurance (light will never show through 10 oz poly, so this is about feel), or a clean interior finish. For cosplay and costumes (quick builds), unlined saves hours.
