Return & Exchange Policy

This Return & Exchange Policy governs the terms and conditions under which returns, exchanges, and claims may be made for merchandise purchased from My Textile Fabric. By placing an order, the customer agrees to comply fully with the terms outlined below.
1. Scope of Policy
This policy applies to all purchases of Sample Swatches, Fabric by the Yard, and Fabric by the Bolt. All sales are final unless a return or exchange is approved in writing by My Textile Fabric under the conditions set forth in this policy.
2. Eligibility for Return or Exchange (Authorization Required)
Returns and exchanges are accepted only when all of the following conditions are met:
- The merchandise must be in new, unused, uncut, and undamaged condition, free of any alterations, markings, stains, odors, or other signs of use or handling.
- A written return request must be submitted within 10 calendar days of delivery.
- The return must be authorized in writing by My Textile Fabric prior to shipment (unauthorized returns will be refused).
- Products must be returned via mail or in person at our physical location (if applicable), and all returns are subject to inspection and approval.
- The customer assumes full responsibility for return shipping costs and risk of loss in transit.
- A 45% restocking fee will be assessed on all approved returns and exchanges, unless the return is confirmed in writing as a verified Faulty Order (see Section 4).
- Refunds (if approved) will be processed within 5 business days after receipt and inspection of the returned merchandise. Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to post the refund.
Unauthorized or late returns will be refused and returned to sender.
3. Exchanges
- The customer is solely responsible for the cost of returning the item and for all applicable shipping charges associated with the replacement product.
- No exchange will be processed until the original merchandise is received, inspected, and approved.
- A 45% restocking fee will be assessed on all approved exchanges unless confirmed in writing as a verified Faulty Order.
4. Categories of Return Claims
A. Faulty Orders
“Faulty Orders” refer strictly to the following:
- Missing merchandise
- Damaged merchandise (arrived damaged)
- Incorrect items shipped
Faulty Orders must be reported in writing within 10 calendar days of delivery. Reports received after this period will not be honored. Failure to comply constitutes a waiver of all related claims.
Customers must inspect all shipments upon receipt. Order discrepancies must be documented and communicated promptly, including photos of the packaging, shipping label, and the issue (damage or incorrect item).
Replacement merchandise (if approved) will be shipped via UPS Ground or carrier of our choice. Expedited shipping is not provided unless expressly approved and paid for by the customer.
If a carrier damage or loss claim is required, My Textile Fabric may assist with documentation when reasonably possible; however, claim approval and reimbursement decisions are made solely by the carrier.
B. Dye Lot Variations / Color Disclaimer
Due to industry-standard production variances, color variations of up to 10% within the same dye lot are deemed acceptable and are not grounds for return, refund, or exchange.
- No accommodations will be made for dissatisfaction related to dye lot inconsistencies, lighting differences, or monitor-to-physical color discrepancies.
- Customers are strongly advised to order sample swatches prior to placing bulk or color-sensitive orders. Swatches may vary over time and should be ordered close to the time of purchase for best color consistency.
C. Irregular Cuts, Sizing & Cut-to-Order Variance
As a cut-to-order operation, My Textile Fabric allows dimensional variance of up to 10% in length or width.
- Returns or exchanges for sizing differences within this tolerance will not be accepted.
- Fitting issues or estimated measurement differences are not considered defects.
Customers seeking exact dimensions are encouraged to purchase additional yardage to account for cutting variance and project needs.
5. Final Sale / Non-Returnable Items
The following merchandise is considered non-returnable and final sale:
- Clearance or closeout items
- Custom or cut-to-order fabric
- Special order or made-to-specification items
- Sample swatches (except in the case of verified Faulty Orders)
- ALL SALE ITEMS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE
6. Shipping Fees, Handling Fees & Refused Packages
- Shipping charges, handling fees, expedited shipping upgrades, and customs/duties are non-refundable.
- If a customer refuses delivery, fails to accept delivery, or provides an incorrect/incomplete address resulting in return-to-sender, the order may be subject to return shipping fees, applicable carrier fees, and the restocking fee.
7. Delivered Packages / Theft (“Porch Piracy”)
If tracking shows a package as Delivered, the order is considered successfully delivered. My Textile Fabric is not responsible for theft, loss, or misplacement after delivery confirmation by the carrier.
8. International Returns (Including Canada)
- Customers outside the United States are solely responsible for all shipping costs, duties, brokerage fees, and taxes related to returns.
- My Textile Fabric will not accept liability for returned items held in customs, refused shipments, or items lost or damaged in international transit.
9. Right to Cancel Orders
We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our sole discretion, including (but not limited to) orders that appear to involve suspected fraud, unauthorized payment activity, pricing errors, inventory issues, shipping restrictions, address verification issues, abnormal purchasing behavior, or policy violations. If an order is canceled, the customer will be issued a refund to the original payment method (when applicable).
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This policy shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes arising in connection with this policy or any transactions shall be submitted exclusively to the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
