Color Waves

Not sure about the color? We highly recommend ordering a sample swatch first to see the color and fabric in person. Colors may vary slightly due to screen settings and dye lots. Returns are accepted in accordance with our return policy and are subject to applicable restocking fees.

Dye Lot Variations

A Note About Dye Lots  Dye lots may vary slightly from order to order. As one fabric roll sells out and a new roll is opened, subtle color variations may occur. If matching a specific shade is important, we recommend ordering a sample swatch to view our current dye lot before placing your order.

Full Piece and/or Splits

Full Pieces & Splits

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the velvet types you carry?
We stock stretch velvet, panne/crushed velvet, and plush velvets — each with a different pile, sheen, and hand feel. Stretch velvet has spandex for give, while panne has a crushed, lustrous finish. This breakdown of velvet vs. velour vs. plush will help you pick the right one. Prices start from $4.99 per yard.
Is velvet hard to take care of?
Care varies by fabric — check the product listing. Many of our velvets are polyester-based, which makes them more forgiving than silk velvet, but pile fabrics still need gentle handling. Our delicate fabric care guide covers the essentials.
Can I use velvet for event backdrops and drapery?
Absolutely — velvet is one of the most dramatic choices for stage backdrops, photo walls, and wedding drapery because it absorbs light beautifully. For large installations, consider our double-wide options (over 60 inches) to reduce seams, and order swatches first. See top event decor fabrics for 2026 for pairing ideas.
What's the difference between crushed and panne velvet?
Both have a textured, high-shine finish, but panne is typically a lighter knit with a more pronounced crushed pattern, while crushed velvet can be denser. The look you want depends on the project — upholstery vs. apparel. This crushed vs. panne comparison shows both up close.
Do you sell velvet by the bolt at wholesale prices?
Yes — bolt pricing is wholesale, and multi-yard orders are cut from one continuous bolt so you get consistent color. Multi-bolt orders are sourced from the same dye lot. Our wholesale bolt buying guide explains how to save the most. Orders over $50 ship free in the Continental USA (UPS/FedEx, $3.99 handling).
