Description

Stretch Taffeta is a 35% Nylon, 60% Polyester 5% Spandex fabric with a width of 57/58" wide. This Taffeta has a crispy yet soft and smooth hand feel with a two way stretch. Once stretched out, conforms back to its original state. Stretch taffeta is used for dresses, gowns, wedding gowns, and other high end garments. This fabric can also be used for arts and crafts projects, decorations for events and party rentals.

Cleaning Instructions

100% Washable - Machine Cycle Cold or Warm, Low Tumble, Dry under low temperatures.

Some fabric rolls come straight from our mill unpackaged and untouched but will have a few splits in the rolls. We do not guarantee one full pieces - if this is an issue - please contact our reps prior to purchasing

Beautiful Samples convinced me

I ordered samples from several sites to compare color and texture before committing to a purchase for creating a couple of ballet tutus. MyTextileFabric’s were the most beautiful, rich colors with a substantial hand and a perfect sheen. Placing my order now, for Nutcracker preparations!

heavy weight stretch

I bought 6 different colors to make the bottom flare of mermaid skirts. The stretch runs the length of this taffeta, not the width, so plan accordingly. Gave it a rinse & spin to remove the stretched fold marks, followed by a pressing. Easy to work with but it is in no way lightweight or crisp. This taffeta has a stiff heavy drape which makes it great for patterns needing form. The colors shimmer, but not in a sparkly or satin way. They are Just Gorgeous. The yellow in the picture below is the best representation of the actual stiffness. Colors pictured: Denim blue, Yellow, Watermelon (not this red in real life), Teal, Coral.

This fabric isn't anything I thought I ordered. I thought I was getting a nylon lining material. But it's taffeta.

Fabric I ordered was a shade different than the last time I ordered it just 6 months prior.
Shipping took a while.

The material was easy to work with and such a gorgeous color. My daughter who is just learning to sew used this and created a fabulous skirt for a Cosplay coming up next weekend at an Anime Con!

Received wrong colors

The stretch taffeta is great, if we received the correct colors. I ordered Charcoal and received Navy, ordered gold & received yellow. The rest of the order was correct

I love the stretch taffeta for lining for my formal gowns. The fabric is also nice enough to stand alone. It is absolutely beautiful in luster and sheen.

Nice sheen w moderate stretch

Had looked for a shiny-ish fabric with some give for a fitted garment and this fabric fits the bill. I also appreciate the customer service response when I had an issue with a recent order. Recommend both this fabric and this company.

Stretch Taffeta

The order was scheduled to arrive Feb. 2 but didn’t arrive until Feb. 7. Very disappointed in the delivery delay. USPS is still sending me updates stating my order is still on its way but will be late!!! The fabric is nice but swatches are pricey. I’ve had several fabric stores / sources send me free swatches.

Gorgeous

I took a risk by ordering a boatload of this stretch taffeta without trying a swatch first, but it was worth it. Both colors I ordered are rich, iridescent and have a nice sheen. Royal black and light silver. It has a nice weight to it, and a reasonable amount of two-way stretch. I will absolutely be ordering this fabric again for my next project.
