Star Foil Organza is a 60" wide plain smooth organza with Silver Foil Stars. This Fabric is sheer and comes in a hand full of colors. The Sheer background changes but the Silver Foil Star is constant. Great for children's clothing, Costumes, and event party and planning.

Fun Colors!

While I haven't had the chance to create my project using the organza, I can say that I love the colors! I think they'll be the perfect background for some shadow-boxing ornaments.

SCRATCHY....The fabric is beautiful by my 3 year granddaughter found it scratchhy and will not wear the dress where I used the fabric for the sleeves. DARN

Absolutely gorgeous! They were PERFECT as the overlays for our vow renewal! One thing, I will say, though. I requested the fabric to be cut for me, and they didn't do it. They did say they don't do special cuts, but how hard would it have been to cut it into 3-4 pieces like I had asked? I really didn't think I was that big of a deal, but oh well. The fabric is beautiful and shipping was fast.

Are the stars printed or foil — will they flake off?

They're foil, heat-bonded to the organza. Star Foil Organza has silver metallic foil stars on a sheer 100% polyester organza (58/60" wide) — the sheer background comes in several colors but the silver star stays constant. Foil is bonded, not glued on top, so it doesn't flake like loose glitter; but it's still a surface finish, so wash gently (machine washable cold or warm, low tumble — we'd use a garment bag) and never iron directly on the stars. Heat and abrasion are what kill foil.

Is this good for a galaxy or space-themed party?

It's made for exactly that. Silver foil stars scattered on sheer organza read as a night sky — event planners use it for overlays, draped accents, and decor, and it works for costumes and children's clothing too. At just over 1 oz per linear yard with a soft, smooth hand, it's featherweight for layering over dark base cloths (navy or black underneath makes the silver stars pop dramatically). The honest note: the star scatter is random, so large installations should come from one bolt for consistency.

Can I see through it?

Yes — it's sheer organza. Star Foil Organza is fully sheer between the stars, so it needs an underlayer for any garment and reads as an overlay fabric for events. That sheerness is the feature: layered over a solid tablecloth, the sheer ground disappears and the silver stars appear to float.
