Description

Quad Sequins is an 8mm glued on square sequins. Evenly spread with about less than 40" of useable fabric with the balance of selvedge. The sequins on vibrant and bright with a unique metallic shine. This fabric is used for event planning, decorations, swaging, costume designs and cosplay outfits.

Cleaning Instructions	100% hand wash only. Luke warm water with mild soap only. Hang to dry to avoid snagging and or crushed effect.

Frequently asked questions

It says 45 inches wide — how much sequined width do I actually get?

Plan on 40 inches of sequins. This quad sequin fabric measures 45" selvage to selvage, but the 8mm glued square sequins only cover about 40" — the balance is bare selvage edge on each side. That matters for yardage math: a 40" bodice panel eats the full sequined width, so order an extra half yard beyond what you'd buy for a fully-covered 45" fabric. We'd rather you know this before cutting than discover it mid-project.

Glued sequins vs sewn — will these pop off?

Glued sequins are the tradeoff you should understand going in. The 8mm square sequins on this fabric are glued on (not sewn), which gives a smooth, flat, even spread with a bright metallic shine — but glue bonds weaken with heat, agitation, and time. That's exactly why the care is hand wash only in lukewarm water with mild soap, hung to dry. Never machine wash or tumble it; you'll find sequins in the lint trap. For costumes that get worn hard, sewn-sequin fabrics hold up longer — glued wins on price and flatness.

Can I sew through the sequins, or do I have to remove them?

Remove them from your seam allowances — don't sew through them. Glued 8mm sequins will crack under the needle, dull or break it, and the cracked edges scratch. The standard approach: scrape or melt the sequins off the seam line (about 1/2" each side), sew the 100% polyester base fabric, then hand-tack a few sequins back over the seam if the line shows. It's fussy work, which is why we mention it: sequin garments take roughly twice the sewing time of plain fabric.
