Color Waves

Not sure about the color? We highly recommend ordering a sample swatch first to see the color and fabric in person. Colors may vary slightly due to screen settings and dye lots. Returns are accepted in accordance with our return policy and are subject to applicable restocking fees.

Dye Lot Variations

A Note About Dye Lots  Dye lots may vary slightly from order to order. As one fabric roll sells out and a new roll is opened, subtle color variations may occur. If matching a specific shade is important, we recommend ordering a sample swatch to view our current dye lot before placing your order.

Full Piece and/or Splits

Full Pieces & Splits

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Satin lame

The fabric is great for a liner but I was hoping for a thicker satin lame for making a gown I was disappointed in that part I’ve had bought a satin lame fabric before and the outer part of the texture of the fabric was smoother than this one . Since pandemic we loss a lot of textiles it’s sad

Frequently asked questions

'No face' — what does reversible mean for cutting?
Both sides are identical, so you can't cut anything wrong-side-out. This metallic lame is a textured crepon with a satin finish, available in gold and silver, and the listing notes it's one of few fabrics 'so fragile yet luxurious and has no face' — reversible, either side usable. That's genuinely convenient: no tracking right/wrong sides across pattern pieces. The tradeoff in the same sentence: it's fragile. This is a delicate, dry-clean-only metallic (about 70 grams per square meter, very light body) — handle it like the luxury it is.
Is metallic lame too fragile for a costume that gets worn all day?
It depends on the costume's abuse level. The listing is candid: this lame is 'fragile yet luxurious' — the metallic surface can crack and flake with repeated creasing, sweat, and friction. For a stage costume worn for hours under lights, it's spectacular and holds up fine. For a cosplay involving sitting on concrete, backpack straps, and all-day convention wear, expect visible wear. It's dry clean only, 100% polyester. Our honest take: lame is for looking, not for laboring.
Gold vs silver — which photographs better?
Both photograph well; they just do different work. This lame's high sheen and crushable texture catch light dramatically in either colorway. Silver reads cooler and more 'space age' under flash; gold reads warmer and richer under tungsten event lighting. The listing notes only two colors exist — gold and silver — so there's no wrong choice, just a palette choice. Swatch advice: metallics shift wildly between screen and reality, so order both swatches if you're torn.
