We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Is this real wool tweed?

No — it's woolen-style polyester. This Classic Tweed is inspired by traditional Scottish tweed with the characteristic textured weave and rustic charm, but it's 100% polyester, not wool. The honest tradeoff: you lose wool's natural breathability and prestige, but you gain machine washability (cold or warm, low tumble), moisture resistance, and a much lower price. For costumes, decor, and everyday garments, most people won't know the difference at arm's length.

Will it fray badly when I cut it?

Some — it's a woven with a textured surface, so expect the usual woven fraying along cut edges. Finish your seams: pinking, serging, or a simple zigzag keeps this tweed intact. The slightly rough, rustic surface actually hides fraying better than a smooth suiting does. Cut with sharp shears rather than a rotary cutter for the cleanest edge on textured weaves like this.
