Ruffle Mesh is a layered Mesh Ruffles going parallel to the fabric width. Great for costumes, table skirts, and or arts and crafts ideas. Ruffles run horizontal and are layered. Some colors are tone on tone while others are two tone. Excellent fabric for party decors, costumes, decorations, home decor, and more.

Which way do the ruffles run?

Horizontally, layered like shingles. The mesh ruffles on this fabric run parallel to the width — horizontal rows layered down the 57" wide goods — on a sturdy taffeta backing. Some colorways are tone-on-tone, others two-tone. That horizontal layering matters for cutting: ruffles run across the width, so a table skirt cut along the length gets cascading horizontal ruffles, while rotating the cut 90 degrees stacks them vertically. Plan your orientation before you cut, because you can't rotate after.

Dry clean only for a table skirt — is that practical?

It's the price of the look. Ruffled Mesh is dry clean only — the layered organza ruffles on taffeta backing (about 95 grams per square meter, light-to-medium body) would tangle and crush in a machine. For table skirts, which don't take food spills directly, dry cleaning between events is manageable. Honest budgeting: if you're skirting 20 tables for a rental rotation, factor the cleaning cost per event — or reserve this fabric for head tables and stages where the ruffle drama earns its keep.

Will the ruffles flatten in storage?

They can if you compress them. The layered ruffles are soft mesh over a sturdy taffeta back — storing a finished skirt folded flat under weight presses the ruffle loft out. Roll rather than fold when you can, and steam (don't iron) to revive the layers; the taffeta backing takes steam well. The 100% polyester construction means the ruffles bounce back better than natural fibers would. Just don't expect machine-wash-and-toss convenience from a ruffled fabric — dimension always needs a little care.
