We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

Can I use the scalloped edge as a finished hem?

Yes — that's the smartest way to use it. This black lace has scallops on both ends, so you can lay out your pieces to let the scalloped edge finish a neckline, sleeve, or skirt hem with zero hemming. At about 6 oz per square yard it's a genuinely heavy lace, not the flimsy kind, and the 58/60-inch width gives you two finished edges per cut. Honest note: it's a sheer 100% polyester lace, so bodices need lining or an underlay.

Is it sturdy enough for a structured bodice?

As a fashion overlay, yes; as the sole bodice fabric, no. This Heavy Scallop Lace has real body at 6 oz and holds its structure better than lightweight laces, which makes it excellent layered over satin or crepe for bridal and evening bodices. But it's still an open sheer lace — it won't support boning or hold shape alone. Underline it with a stable fabric and let the lace do the visual work.
