Our Cotton Eyelet embroidery is an all over eyelet embroidery. Both ends of the fabric are scalloped. A very soft finish makes great for clothing, garments, skirts, and summer apparel needs. Also great for arts and crafts and home decor projects.

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Double-sided border vs double-sided scallop — same thing?

Related but distinct products. This is a 45" wide poly-cotton eyelet (the listing notes 65% polyester / 45% cotton — the numbers as printed) with a double-sided border and medium eyelet — 'both ends of the fabric are scalloped' per the description, so the borders are finished scalloped edges. It's about 4.5 oz per linear yard, very soft hand, made in Thailand, machine washable. The 'border' layout means the eyelet embroidery concentrates at the borders rather than all-over — decorative edges with a cleaner field, versus the heavy all-over embroidery of the heavy eyelet.

How do I use a bordered eyelet in a garment?

Let the borders be the design. With finished scalloped borders on both 45" ends, the classic layouts: borders as the hemline (skirts, dresses — zero hemming), borders as vertical trim panels, or one border as a neckline finish. The medium eyelet and 4.5 oz weight drape softly for summer apparel (its listed use). The constraint is geometry: your pieces must fit the 45" width with borders where you want them — sketch the layout first. For pillows and home accents, the border is instant finished trim.

Medium eyelet — what does the size mean practically?

The eyelet holes are medium scale — visible and decorative without being oversized. Medium eyelets read as classic broderie anglaise: noticeable texture from a few feet, not the bold cutwork of large eyelets or the subtlety of small ones. On this 45" bordered layout, the medium scale suits summer apparel, children's clothes, and home accents (its listed uses) — versatile rather than statement. If you want dramatic large-scale eyelet, that's a different product; medium is the everyday-elegant choice.
