Color Waves

Not sure about the color? We highly recommend ordering a sample swatch first to see the color and fabric in person. Colors may vary slightly due to screen settings and dye lots. Returns are accepted in accordance with our return policy and are subject to applicable restocking fees.

Dye Lot Variations

A Note About Dye Lots  Dye lots may vary slightly from order to order. As one fabric roll sells out and a new roll is opened, subtle color variations may occur. If matching a specific shade is important, we recommend ordering a sample swatch to view our current dye lot before placing your order.

Full Piece and/or Splits

Full Pieces & Splits

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Frequently asked questions

Is 120 inches really seamless for backdrops?
For most stages, yes — that's the entire point of this width. At 120 inches wide, this Flame Retardant Black Cotton Sheeting covers a 10-foot span with zero vertical seams, which means no seam shadows under stage lighting. It's FR-treated cotton with a deep black matte finish and excellent opacity — the matte surface is key, because shiny blacks reflect stage light and look gray on camera. Sold by the yard with swatches available; we'd swatch to confirm the black depth under your lighting.
Will the black fade under hot stage lights?
Less than untreated cotton, but heat and UV are relentless. This is a durable cotton sheeting with a soft hand, FR-treated for safety compliance in public and performance spaces. Black absorbs light — that's why it's the standard for masking and backdrops — but prolonged exposure to hot fixtures will eventually fade any black fabric. Keep it clear of direct fixture contact (it's flame retardant, not fireproof), rotate stock between shows, and store it out of sunlight.
