Dull Square Dazzle is an all over sewn on Square Sequins embroidery hanging off a soft polyester mesh. The sequins cover most of the mesh see through background giving it depth and shine. This sequins mesh makes great for tops and blouses. Commonly used as backdrops, pillow covers, and event decorations.

Cleaning Instructions	Fabric is Dry Clean Only. Do not wash and or machine wash this item.

What does 'dull' mean — are the sequins not shiny?

They're matte rather than mirror-shiny. Dull Square Dazzle uses square payette sequins with a muted finish sewn all over a soft polyester mesh — depth and texture without the disco-ball glare of high-shine sequins. At about 260 grams per square meter (the sequins carry the weight), it's substantial. The honest aesthetic tradeoff: dull sequins photograph beautifully and look expensive up close, but from across a dark ballroom they throw less light than polished sequins — choose based on your lighting, not just the swatch.

Dry clean only — can I get away with hand washing?

We wouldn't risk it. The listing is explicit: dry clean only, do not machine wash. With all-over sewn sequins on a sheer mesh base at 260 GSM, water and agitation can dull the finish further, tangle the mesh, and stress the sequin threads — and a wet 260 GSM sequin fabric is extremely heavy to handle. The dry-cleaning cost is part of owning this fabric. If your project needs frequent laundering, our hand-wash-preferred sequin meshes are the more practical pick.

Is the mesh background visible between the sequins?

Barely. The listing describes the sequins as covering most of the sheer mesh background, giving depth and shine — it reads as a solid sequin fabric (listed 'sheer based, solid sequins'). From a normal viewing distance you see sequins, not mesh. Up close you'll find the mesh ground, which is what makes it flexible and sewable. For tops and blouses it still benefits from lining against skin, but for backdrops and pillow covers it's effectively opaque.
