Description

Petal Taffeta are sewn on round petals on a taffeta fabric. Widely used in the event industry for tablecloths and linens. As well as for costumes and apparel tops and accents.

Cleaning Instructions	100% Polyester Washable - Machine Cycle Cold or Warm, Low Tumble, Dry under low temperatures.

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Petal Taffeta vs Forest Taffeta — what's the actual difference?

Shape and width. Petal Taffeta has sewn-on round petals on a 57" wide taffeta; Forest Taffeta has leaf-shaped embroidery on a 54" wide taffeta. Both are 190T, 100% polyester, with a crispy-soft hand and light-to-medium body, both machine washable. The design read differs: round petals feel romantic and bridal, leaves feel garden-rustic. And practically, those extra 3 inches of width on Petal mean slightly better yardage efficiency on wide tablecloths.

Do the round petals make it hard to get a smooth seam?

They add bulk at the seam line, so plan for it. The sewn-on round petals on this 57" taffeta are dimensional — sewing straight through a petal gives you a lumpy seam that shows on tablecloths. The fix: trim or fold back petals within your seam allowance before stitching, the same way you'd clear sequins. It's 190T polyester taffeta underneath, which sews cleanly on its own. Budget extra time; dimensional fabrics always sew slower than flat ones.

Will the petals survive repeated event use?

Better than glued alternatives. The round petals on Petal Taffeta are sewn onto the 190T base — stitching flexes where glue cracks, so rental tablecloths and costume accents hold up through handling and machine washing (cold or warm, low tumble). The honest wear point: the petal edges can fray slightly over many washes, and light colors show soil faster. For high-rotation rentals, darker colorways hide wear longest.
