We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Is this too stiff for a wearable garment, or only good for decor?

It sews into garments, but it's a structured fabric. This Metallic Brocade B23 is a satin brocade woven to look embroidered, at roughly 7 oz per linear yard — that body is why it shines in cheongsams and historic Chinese costumes. Don't expect drape; expect architecture. The tradeoff is care: it's dry clean only, so design costumes with cleaning access in mind rather than hoping you'll hand-wash them.

Will the metallic threads tarnish or flake over time?

The metallic effect is woven in, not printed on. Because the metallic look of this B23 brocade comes from the weave structure rather than a surface foil, it won't flake the way hologram prints do. That said, metallic brocade and home washing are enemies — dry clean only, always, or you'll dull the finish. For heirloom-style costumes, that care habit is the whole game.
