Inherently Fire Retardant (IFR):

This fabric is Certified fire retardant. Tested and reviewed by Laboratories for Indoor Flame Retardancy. Fire Marshalls and or special jobs require certified fire retardant documents for approval before installation and or product development. Some venues at events may also require this certification for event and or decorations. We offer California Fire Certificates for this product.

Interlock Lining is a soft knit 70 Denier lining used in the Apparel Industry for lining garments and more. This fabric is super soft and flowy also making it a great pipe and drape item in the event industry. Great for small applications like Chuppah and smaller covers to large events cover walls, swagging, and decor.

Cleaning Instructions	100% Washable - Machine Cycle Cold or Warm, Low Tumble, Dry under low temperatures.
Picture Taken	Picture is taken with and/or without flash depending on the color. If you are very particular about the color tone - please order a sample swatch to avoid any issues.

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

What is interlock lining used for?

Lining garments and draping events — both, per the listing. This is a soft knit 70-denier polyester lining, 60" wide, used in apparel to line garments (it's soft, flowy, and stretchy enough not to fight the fashion fabric). The event-industry second life: it's IFR certified NFPA 701 (certificate available on request), so it doubles as a pipe-and-drape fabric for chuppahs, wall covering, and swagging. 70 denier — is that heavy or light for a lining?

Light to medium — a true lining weight. Denier measures fiber thickness; 70 denier is fine enough to drape softly inside garments without adding bulk, but substantial enough not to tear at stress points like a featherweight lining might. The listing describes it as 'super soft and flowy.' For most dresses, jackets, and skirts it's the right weight. For heavy coats you'd want something sturdier — but as an event drape fabric, the light weight is an advantage: it hangs without straining frames.

Does the IFR certification matter if I'm just lining a dress?

Not for the dress — but it costs you nothing. The IFR NFPA 701 certification (certificate available on request) is there for the event-industry buyers who need documented flame retardancy for draping. If you're lining apparel, you get the same soft 70-denier knit either way; the certification is simply irrelevant to your project. Where it does matter: if you ever repurpose leftover yardage for event draping, you're already compliant — a nice bonus, not a selling point for sewers.
