Slipper Lame is a staple fabric in the apparel, theatric, cosplay and event industry. Its ability to crush and change texture and its high sheen allows for multiple applications. Slipper Lame is a Chinese made replica of our Japanese Tissue Lame. One of few fabrics that are so fragile yet luxurious and has no face. Both sides are identical.

Cleaning Instructions	Hand Wash Suggest. Machine Was okay on cold water and soap. Hang to Dry. Do not put in the Dryer.

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Can you use this fabric for Window curtains and is it see through!

Hi Dar!!!

We do not recommend using the Slipper Lame as a Curtain for your home or anywhere that would be used long term.

however, it is great for draping events, parties and or temporarily covering walls/fixtures. The fabric is very lightweight and brittle so it will not last long for longer term use

Fabric is not see through but slightly translucent. again more opaque but very thing and soft and lightweight

Slipper Lame vs Metallic Lame — what's the difference?

Weight, origin story, and finish. Slipper Lame is a Chinese-made replica of Japanese tissue lame — about 48 grams per square meter, very light body, crispy-soft texture, 60" wide in multiple colors. Metallic Lame is the textured crepon satin-finish lame in gold and silver only. Both are 100% polyester, dry clean only, reversible ('no face' — both sides identical), and described as fragile yet luxurious. Choose Slipper for the classic tissue-lame look in many colors; choose Metallic for the crepon texture in gold/silver.

'No face' — how do I tell the right side?

You don't need to — there isn't one. Slipper Lame is reversible with both sides identical, which the listing notes as one of its few-fabrics characteristics. That simplifies cutting (no wrong-side mistakes) and construction (folded edges show the same finish). The tradeoff is the one the listing pairs with it: 'so fragile yet luxurious.' Handle it gently, cut with sharp shears (it can fray), and dry clean only — hand wash is suggested at most, machine cold with soap if you must, hang to dry, never the dryer.

Is the metallic finish going to flake off?

Eventually, with abuse — be honest about the use case. Slipper Lame's metallic finish is delicate: repeated creasing, friction, and sweat break it down, which is why the listing calls it fragile and suggests hand washing (or machine cold with soap at most), hang to dry, never put it in the dryer. For costumes, evening wear, and decor that gets worn gently and stored carefully, it stays beautiful. For daily-wear garments or high-friction applications, expect the metallic to show wear — that's the nature of tissue lame at any price.
