Dye Lot Variations

Full Piece and/or Splits

Full Pieces & Splits

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Frequently asked questions

What is flocking, exactly?
Flocking is a process where tiny velvet fibers are adhered to a base fabric in a pattern — here, a zebra pattern flocked in velvet onto a plain taffeta background. You get the look and touch of velvet zebra stripes on a lightweight (about 80 GSM), crisp taffeta at 60 inches wide. It's an economical way to get a velvet-pattern effect without velvet yardage prices. The honest tradeoff: flocking is a surface application — it's hand wash only (lukewarm water, mild soap, hang dry) because agitation and heat can crush or lift the flocked fibers. Treat it gently and it looks fantastic.
Can kids craft with this flocked taffeta?
Yes — it's listed for arts and crafts projects with kids and schools, and the economical pricing is part of that. The zebra flocking gives kids' costumes and crafts a genuinely cool texture. A few honest cautions: it's hand wash only, so don't make anything that needs hard laundering; the flocked fibers can shed a little with rough handling; and cut with sharp scissors since the taffeta base can fray. For school plays, Halloween costumes, and craft projects, it's ideal.
