Sequins Stretch Velvet is a 90/10 Blend. Water Dyed in Korea and sold by the Yard. Fabric is super soft and has a spandex. Great for Scrunchies, Hair Bands, Pants, Shirts, and Athletic and Dance wear.

Will the sequins survive the washing machine?

This one is listed as machine washable, which is unusual for sequin fabric — the sequins sit on a plush 90% polyester / 10% spandex stretch velvet base, water-dyed in Korea. We'd still wash it inside-out on gentle and cold and skip the dryer, because sequins are embellishments and agitation is their enemy. Honest expectation: occasional sequin loss over many washes is normal for any sequin textile; the velvet base is the durable part.

Is there enough stretch for dancewear or fitted pants?

Yes — that's what the 10% spandex is for. This Sequins Stretch Velvet is a 90/10 blend on a plush velvet base, so it gives with movement while the velvet face keeps it from looking like cheap costume stretch. It's cut for scrunchies, hair bands, pants, shirts, and athletic and dance wear. One sewing note: use a stretch or ballpoint needle and lengthen your stitch, because the plush pile plus sequins will fight a standard needle's tension.
