Rainbow Sequins on a Knit Mesh. Fabric has small Silver Sequins sewn onto a Rainbow Mesh double ply background. Fabric has a 2 Way Stretch. Sequins is smaller than 3mm. Fabric is soft even with the sequins texture.

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Why are there two widths — 48 and 54 inches?

Because the sequins don't go edge to edge. The mesh measures 54 inches wide (mesh to mesh), but the sequined area is 48 inches (sequin to sequin) — the outer few inches on each side are bare mesh. Plan your cutting on 48 inches of sequined fabric, and use the bare mesh margins for your seam allowances (a genuine convenience — no sequins to trim at the edges). It's a 2-way mechanical stretch knit mesh at 75 GSM, with small (under 3mm) silver sequins on a rainbow double-ply mesh background. Machine washable, though hand washing is suggested to preserve its life.

Is this rainbow sequin mesh good for a mermaid costume?

It's built for it — the listing calls it mermaid mesh: small silver sequins on a rainbow ombre mesh background read as scales, and the 2-way mechanical stretch moves with the body for fitted bodices and skirts. At 75 GSM it's light and 'soft even with the sequins texture.' It's a sequin mesh, so line it or wear it over a base layer. Honest tradeoff: the sequins are small (under 3mm), so the effect is shimmer rather than bold scale — for a subtle mermaid it's perfect; for dramatic large-scale armor, look at the jumbo paillettes instead.
