Inherently Fire Retardant (IFR):

This fabric is Certified fire retardant NFPA 701. Tested and reviewed by Laboratories for Indoor Flame Retardancy. Fire Marshalls and or special jobs require certified fire retardant documents for approval before installation and or product development. This item passes the NFPA 701 testing. Some venues at events may also require this certification for event and or decorations. NFPA 701 Certificate available upon request.

Bridal Satin is a heavy plain shiny satin used in the Bridal industry. Great for gowns and dresses. Fabric is thick and heavy but soft enough to hug the body. This fabric is also well known in the party rental industry for its unique colors waves. Customers also use this fabric for drapery accents

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Nice satin with a crisp hand

This fabric has a nice body that makes it easy to cut and sew. The colors coordinate with their other fabrics like the two-tone taffeta and floral jacquard which I regularly use for my commissions.

there is noticeable wrinkles in the fabric

there is noticeable wrinkles in the fabric from rolling it and they wont iron out . I had this problem on every roll , satin leaves a scar and you have to trash parts of the roll . This is why i quict buying from fabric warehouse direct .

This is a nice fabric. I bought it as a lining for a project but I didn't want a lining per se. It is a heavier weight fabric which is what I needed to give my outfit a bit more body. It is shiny on one side, matte on the other. It sews beautifully just make sure your needles and pins are sharp so there's no pulling.

This Bridal Satin is sold by the continuous yard with a 2-yard minimum — one yard of 60-inch satin is rarely enough for any real project, and the minimum keeps cutting and handling efficient. At about 150 grams per square meter, this is a heavy plain shiny satin; two yards gives you a workable piece for bodices, overlays, or drapery accents. For gowns, most makers order far more — the minimum is a floor, not a recommendation.

Is heavy bridal satin too stiff for a fitted gown?
