Thinner than expected

I needed to ensure I had a continuous cut - my fabric is for my design wall. Seller was helpful and responsive to my questions.

Frequently asked questions

Will this white flannel shrink?

Some — it's 100% cotton and not prewashed, so prewash before you cut. Wash cold or warm with a low tumble dry, and expect the first wash to take up most of the shrinkage. At 60 inches wide with about 8.9 oz per linear yard, it's a medium-weight flannel with a bold hand feel — substantial enough for blankets and quilts, not the thin stuff. Buy your full project yardage in one order so everything shrinks together.

Is 60 inches wide enough for quilt backing?

For most quilts, yes — 60 inches covers a throw or twin quilt back in one width with no piecing, which is exactly why quilters like wide flannel. This white flannel is sold by the continuous yard, so a 2-yard cut gives you a true 60×72-inch backing. For anything wider than about 58 inches finished, you'd need to piece it. White also doubles as a clean curtain liner or drapery flannel if your quilt plans change.
