Pinwheel button taffeta are button style pinches in the fabric carefully placed to create a diamond shaped outlay. Button Taffeta is widely used in the home for drapery, duvet covers, pillow covers and more. Event planners manufacture tablecloths and Chair covers. Theatrical costumes are made with top body gowns and skirts.

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Difficult to work with

Because of the pinwheels that I love so dearly, it’s arguably the hardest fabric I’ve worked with. I’m giving a 4 because it’s exactly the color as shown and it’s nice fabric and most importantly idk how much of the difficulty I experienced was operator error. I did buy more, 12 yards so far. At 44” wide it’s taking a lot to do my project. I do want to say the next day shipping I get is awesome! You’re in CA and I’m in LV, NV so sending ups ground I receive my packages the next business day YAY!

What does 'button taffeta' look like?

It reads as tailored texture: the pinches catch light like tiny tufts. For drapery, duvet covers, pillow covers, tablecloths, and chair covers (its listed uses), it's the textured neutral that elevates without a pattern.

48 inches wide — narrower than the other taffetas?

Yes — 48" versus the 54-57" of the leaf and pintuck taffetas. That narrower width matters for yardage math: drapery panels and tablecloths need more cuts and more seams. The tradeoff is the unique texture — button-pinch diamonds don't exist in the wider taffetas. For pillows, chair covers, and duvet covers (its listed uses), 48" is plenty; for wide drapery, plan the extra yardage and seam placement upfront. It's 100% polyester, machine washable.

Will the pinches flatten with use?

They're stitched pinches, not pressed pleats — so they hold. The button-style pinches on this taffeta are sewn texture, which survives washing (cold or warm, low tumble) and use far better than heat-set texture. They'll soften slightly over many washes but won't disappear. Don't iron directly on the pinched face (it flattens the dimension); steam from the back. For chair covers and duvets that get sat and slept on, expect the high-contact areas to relax first — that's honest wear, not defect.
