Frequently asked questions

What is lace fabric best used for?
Bridal gowns, veils, overlays, table runners, and elegant apparel details — lace adds texture and romance that few fabrics match. It's also popular for DIY wedding decor. Our wedding dress fabric guide covers where lace shines.
How do I care for lace?
Care varies by fabric — check the product listing. Lace is delicate by nature, so gentle handling and proper storage keep it looking its best. Our delicate fabric care guide has the details.
I'm new to fabrics — how is lace different from embroidery or sheer?
Lace is an openwork fabric where the pattern is part of the structure; embroidery is stitching applied onto a base fabric; sheer fabrics like chiffon are simply transparent weaves. Each serves different design goals. This beginner fabric guide demystifies the differences.
Do your lace fabrics come in colors beyond white and ivory?
Yes — we stock lace in a wide range of colors for fashion, costumes, and event decor, starting from $1.99 per yard. If you're unsure about a shade, order a swatch first. Our swatch guide shows how to shop samples smartly.
Is it better to buy lace by the yard or look for trim?
Yardage gives you full-width fabric for overlays, garments, and runners; trim suits edges and accents. For large projects, our wholesale bolt pricing saves the most. Avoid common pitfalls with our wholesale buying mistakes guide.
