Not sure about the color? We highly recommend ordering a sample swatch first to see the color and fabric in person. Colors may vary slightly due to screen settings and dye lots. Returns are accepted in accordance with our return policy and are subject to applicable restocking fees.

Dye Lot Variations

A Note About Dye Lots  Dye lots may vary slightly from order to order. As one fabric roll sells out and a new roll is opened, subtle color variations may occur. If matching a specific shade is important, we recommend ordering a sample swatch to view our current dye lot before placing your order.

Full Piece and/or Splits

Full Pieces & Splits

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

Frequently asked questions

What does '58 cuttable' mean on a 60-inch fabric?
It means you get 58 usable inches out of the 60-inch width. This Mikado Satin measures 60 inches wide selvage to selvage, but the selvage edges themselves aren't usable for your pattern — so plan your layout on 58 inches. At 8 oz (about 170 GSM) this is a medium-to-heavy twill satin, and that dense weave is why the selvages run a little wider than on lighter satins. Always lay out wedding-dress patterns on the cuttable width, not the full width.
Is mikado too heavy for a summer wedding dress?
It can be — know what you're signing up for. At 8 oz / 170 GSM, this Mikado is a prized medium-to-heavy satin with real body: it sculpts structured bodices, holds sculpted skirts, and photographs with a rich, non-shiny depth. That structure is the whole point of mikado. The tradeoff: it's a substantial fabric, so a full mikado gown in summer heat feels heavier and warmer than a charmeuse or chiffon dress. Brides choosing it are choosing architecture over airiness.
