Description

Donatello is a patterned embroidery on a sheer organza. Fabric is very light weight and has a soft embroidered touch. Great for accents, children's clothing, and overlays in the event industry. Floral Sheer Embroidery. No Sequins Embellishments on this fabric.

Cleaning Instructions	100% Polyester Washable - Machine Cycle Cold or Warm, Low Tumble, Dry under low temperatures.

We always do our best to provide your order in one continuous piece whenever possible. However, as fabric rolls are completed or depending on how they arrive from the mill, an order may occasionally include more than one piece. Some mill-direct rolls may also contain splits within the roll.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee one continuous piece. If continuous yardage is important for your project, please contact our team before ordering so we can check availability for you.

I needed a sheer organza embroidery fabric to match some fabric I bought several years ago. I have a VERY nice artificial 10 foot Christmas tree, which remains up all year. I had bought some fabric from the garment district in Los Angeles, but my estimate of how much to buy was short about 2 yards. So the back of the tree had to be dusted/vacuumed every year. Sort of an awkward verging on an accident waiting to happen. I found My Textile Fabric store online, and ordered enough of a very similar fabric to cover the back of the tree. The customer service over the phone was superb, the shipping was rocket fast, and the sales person and her supervisor really went out of their way to help me match their fabric to the fabric I already had. Hard to believe that the match was so close. I have bookmarked this site for my future online fabric needs. Really appreciate the enthusiastic support I received! Wish I could show you a photo!

What's the difference between Donatello and Dahlia organza?

Sequins — that's the whole difference. Donatello is a floral sheer embroidery on 52/54" organza with no sequin embellishment, while Dahlia has sequins sewn into the same style of floral pattern. Both are about 25 grams per square meter, 100% polyester, sheer, and machine washable. Our honest take: pick Donatello if you're sewing garments (no sequins snapping needles or scratching skin) and Dahlia if it's decor where the sparkle earns its keep.

Is Donatello easier to sew than sequined organza?

Noticeably easier. Without sequins in the way, Donatello's soft floral embroidery sews like a standard sheer — no picking embellishments out of seam allowances, no broken needles, no scratchy sequin edges against skin on a child's dress. It's still a 25 GSM sheer, so use a sharp needle, hold the fabric taut (don't pull), and French seams or a rolled hem will look cleanest. The tradeoff versus sequined versions: you lose the sparkle, so it reads softer and more matte under event lighting.

Can Donatello go straight in the washing machine?

Yes — cold or warm cycle, low tumble, low heat. Because Donatello has no sequins or beads, it's one of the lowest-maintenance embroidered sheers we carry; there's nothing to snag, loosen, or fall off in the wash. The one thing we'd flag: it's a very light 25 GSM sheer, so wash it in a garment bag to keep it from wrapping around heavier items and stretching. Dry cleaning is never required here.
